The plaintiff instituted an action against defendant to recover $1474.06 and interest. $1150.92 of the principal sum sought to be recovered was for roofing materials sold and delivered to the defendant, and the remaining $323.14 was to repay the plaintiff for labor, workmens compensation insurance, Social Security contributions, and unemployment insurance which the plaintiff alleged he had advanced for the defendant and which the defendant had agreed to repay him. The answer of the defendant was in the nature of a general denial and in addition set forth a counterclaim to recover damages because of the alleged defective condition of the roof supplied by plaintiff, the defendant claiming that the roof leaked to the extent that it could not be repaired but instead must be totally replaced, and, that because of the leaking, depreciation was caused to the defendants barn and damage was done to hay and feed stored therein.
