This is an appeal from a take-nothing jury verdict in a products- liability suit. Appellants, the surviving family members of Stephanie Elizabeth Smith (the Smiths), challenge the trial courts granting a directed verdict and the jurys verdict in favor of appellee, Aqua-Flo, Inc. (Aqua-Flo). We address (1) whether the trial court erred in granting a directed verdict on the Smiths design defect cause of action; (2) whether the trial court improperly influenced the jury on the remaining issues by granting a directed verdict on the Smiths design defect cause of action; (3) whether the verdict, finding Aqua-Flo without fault, was against the great weight and preponderance of the evidence; and (4) whether the trial court erred in granting a directed verdict on the Smiths gross negligence claim. We affirm.
